Primary Objective: At Raiffeisen Bank, cloud computing continues to allow us to modernize and consolidate IT infrastructure, automate workloads, and pursue next-generation innovation. To continue this transformation, we’re seeking an experienced Cloud Architect able to provide technical leadership for the adoption of Public Cloud services. The successful candidate will combine deep technical knowledge with business acumen and work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the full business benefits of the move to Public Cloud. The position requires a strong background architecting and developing applications in a Public Cloud that adopt cloud-native design principles. In addition to extensive software development expertise, the candidate must have extensive knowledge of architecting solutions across the full stack. The position also requires an ability to communicate effectively with senior level stakeholders in the business and bring strong strategic leadership to these interactions. Key Responsibilities • Setting the direction for Cloud adoption by architecting the solutions that will replace existing legacy, monolithic, functionality into a service based, Cloud native architecture • Communicating, designing and guiding the migration for business applications, as well as do hands-on implementation when needed • Be an AWS advocate within the team, educating the rest of the team, setting best practices and being a thought leader in our Cloud adoption journey • Partnering with application owners & solution architects to agree new architecture designs and implementation plans • Analyse business requirements, propose technical solutions, develop those solutions • Acting as a technical consultant and architect in cloud migration projects • Gathering requirements and defining the challenges for the migration & planning • Helping engineers to deliver projects that meet business needs & timeline • Working together with project managers to manage the business expectation from a technical point of view • Educating engineers on best practices in Cloud Migrations and communicating our work approach in a manner that DevOps teams understand the value within them • Ensuring high-quality delivery, reporting, and business profitability • Helping to develop migration methodology and related tooling further Key Qualifications And Skills • Excellent understanding of cloud computing technologies and multiple years of experience (and relevant certifications) with Cloud Hyperscaler Environments (AWS, Microsoft) • Relevant hands-on experience in designing and developing cloud-native solutions as well as in re-architecting existing applications for the cloud with the aim to leverage cloud-native elements wherever practically feasible (service and tool selection, architecture, resiliency, infrastructure as code tools etc.) • Being involved in at least one enterprise-level form on-premises/hybrid to cloud migration. • Cloud/SaaS/Web Services development, SOA/microservices architecture. Good understanding of RDBMS, SQL and NoSQL alternatives • Generally, a broad set of architecture knowledge & skills, especially related to Infrastructure, Networks, Security, and Data / Analytics technology. • Understanding recent computing trends and familiarity with enterprise architecture, application integration, and service-based architecture. • Very good communication skills, both written and verbal, comprising also the ability to translate complex technical content and dependencies into a language that can be understood by a broader group of stakeholders. • Ability to work in an agile and dynamic environment and to build up knowledge related to new technology/solutions in an effective and timely manner.
